How the Layout Contribution Metadata
Component Works
The Layout Contribution Metadata tag uses the following syntax:
<nexus:field metadata="
field name
"
format="
format
"/>
The
metadata
field defines the name of the metadata field to display. The
format
field
can be used to add any special formatting, for example for date fields.
For example, to insert the value of a metadata field called ReleaseDate, use the following
syntax:
<nexus:field metadata="ReleaseDate" format="yyyy.MMMM.dd GGG hh:mm
aaa"/>
This field will display a date in the following format:
2001.May.10 AD 12:08 PM
For more information on formatting date fields, see "Formatting Date Fields" on page 29.
How to Insert a Layout Contribution
Metadata Component
You can add the Layout Contribution Metadata component to layout files in Dreamweaver,
or manually in your own HTML editor.
To add the Layout Contribution Metadata component to layout files:

In Collage, locate and select the contribution layout file in the Project | Contribution
Setup view.

Do one of the following:
If you have specified an editor to use with HTML files, click the
Edit
button to
check the file out and open it in your editor.
Or, click the
Check Out
button then open the file from within your HTML
editor. In either case, the file is copied to your workfile directory.
NOTE
You can verify and modify your workfile directory from the Preferences dialog box.
Click the
Preferences
button to the display the Preferences dialog
box.
